A journey through taste, culture and quality to promote European olive oil certified PDO, PGI and BIO in China.
EcceChina – European Olive Oil, Symbol of Mediterranean Culture to Satisfy Oriental Tastes”, an innovative three-year promotion and information project dedicated to European extra virgin olive oil, with a targeted focus on the Chinese market, officially kicks off.
Promoted by Unaprol – Consorzio Olivicolo Italiano and co-financed by the European Union, EcceChina aims to accompany consumers, sector operators and catering professionals on a sensory and cultural journey to discover extra virgin olive oil, the excellence of the Mediterranean diet and symbol of the European agrifood tradition.
The programme includes a rich series of initiatives that will be developed over the next three years in different strategic areas of China. Among the scheduled activities
- communication campaigns on social and digital media,
- study and training trips to Europe for operators in the sector,
- institutional workshops and B2B meetings,
- promotional activities at selected restaurants and points of sale
- guided tastings and educational actions aimed at the Chinese public.
The main objective of the project is to increase the knowledge and recognisability of European extra virgin olive oil, particularly those certified as PDO (Protected Designation of Origin), PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) and Organic, enhancing its quality standards, traceability and nutritional benefits.
EcceChina also aims to strengthen the competitiveness of European production on international markets, increasing consumption and consolidating the presence of European olive oil in China, one of the most dynamic and promising markets for the agri-food sector.
With EcceChina, Europe speaks to the Chinese public through the universal language of taste and quality.
